What to visit by Boat in Porto Cesareo

Navigating the coastline of Porto Cesareo allows you to explore the diverse beauty of the Ionian shore, following an itinerary that winds through historic coastal towers, natural parks, and pristine environmental areas. Below is our guide to planning your route from South to North.

Southern Sector

  • Torre Sant'Isidoro
An important historic outpost overlooking the bay of the same name. Characterized by calm waters and shallow depths, it is the ideal starting point for those wishing to explore the southern reaches of the coast.

  • Penisola della Strea
An area of significant naturalistic interest that encloses an internal lagoon. Navigating inside the peninsula allows you to observe the typical conformation of the local coastline in generally calm and protected waters.

Central Area

  • Rabbit Island (Isola dei Conigli)
The heart of the Marine Protected Area. You can circumnavigate the island at a respectful distance to admire its lush Mediterranean vegetation from the sea, while adhering to the proximity limits established by environmental regulations.

  • Torre Lapillo Beaches
One of the primary destinations for those seeking sandy sea beds and crystal-clear waters, all easily accessible by boat.

  • Torre Castiglione
A stretch of coast featuring a blend of sandy and rocky morphology. The presence of underground freshwater springs ensures constant water clarity, making it an ideal spot for anchoring in the bay.

Northern Sector

  • Punta Prosciutto Dunes
An area famous for its towering sand dunes and emerald sea. Navigating this stretch offers wide-open spaces and a seabed that slopes gently away from the shore.

  • Torre Colimena
The final point of the route, dominated by a historic defensive structure that marks the boundary of the protected area. It offers a wilder, more rugged coastal landscape.
